“When I was 24 years old, I made the decision to travel to Houston, Texas to be an au pair. My mother thought I was crazy for wanting to do this. My friends were so happy for me. I was really nervous and wasn’t sure if this is what I should do. But I was also so excited to travel.
My number one passion in life is travelling. When I got to Texas, it was so different from where I was born and raised. I couldn’t get over how hot it was there — or how huge it was. I fell in love with Texas instantly. But with that being said, I faced some challenges along the way.
I stayed in Texas for 4 months, and it was the best experience I ever made for myself. I am proud of myself for making that big step to go to a different country and live with strangers. To meet new people and to have gained new friendships that I will have for the rest of my life. To hear some great advice along the way and to be told what I did was brave, that made me feel incredible.”
